To put it simply, Lauren Faust is literally the reason we're all here organizing and attending this convention. Without her, there's no My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and no BABSCon.
If MLP were all she had done, that would be amazing, but the rest of her résumé is just as impressive. Lauren got her start by helping animate cinematic gems like The Iron Giant and Cats Don't Dance. Then being a writer/editor/producer/director on TV animated classics Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends and The Powerpuff Girls with husband Craig McCracken (she even directed the PPG movie in 2002!).
Since leaving MLP, Lauren has reunited with McCracken on Disney's hit, Wander Over Yonder, created the Super Best Friends Forever shorts for DC animation, and joined video game developers Mane 6 as the character designer and scenarist for the upcoming 4-legged fighting game Them's Fightin' Herds, which she helped rise from the ashes of the scrapped Fighting is Magic.
Andrea Libman hardly needs an introduction, seeing as she’s the award-winning voice of both Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and My Little Pony: Equestria Girls. But she’s been a star since she got her start voicing characters like the titular Madeline in The New Adventures of Madeline and the young AndrAIa on ReBoot.
Not content with merely being an amazing vocal talent, Andrea also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia, plays and teaches the piano, and engages in running & cycling events for charity.
Nicole Oliver is an actress of grand stature. In addition to her work as Princess Celestia, Miss Cheerilee, and Tree Hugger on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, she’s lent her voice to a plethora of beloved characters, including Zoe Trent in Littlest Pet Shop, Molly McGrath in Max Steel, Shahrzad from 1001 Nights. She’s also appeared on-screen in Seed, Supernatural, and The Falling, among others.
On Slice Networks’ Crash Test Mommy, she served as Director, Producer, and Host as she helped 52 mothers garner well-deserved recognition and relaxation…awfully fitting when you consider her motherly disposition! Possessing a heart of gold, with wit and charm for the ages, Nicole will bring an air of royalty to the proceedings this April at BABSCon.
With more than 20 years of voice over experience, Kelly Sheridan has appeared in numerous animated series and features including Ukyo in Ranma ½, The Scarlet Witch in X-Men Evolution, Diana in Martin Mystery, Sango in InuYasha, Theresa in Class of the Titans, and numerous roles in My Little Pony Tales and MLP G3. Most notably, she has worked for Mattel since 2001, playing the voice of Barbie in the majority of their feature length films. Recently she can be heard as Mystique Sonja in Hero 108, Hisako in Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men, Sersi in Neil Gaiman’s Eternals, and Starlight Glimmer in MLP: FiM.
Kelly is a graduate of Simon Theatre University’s Theatre Program and loves creating theatre with her home grown troupe, Genus Theatre. The rest of the time she can be found travelling, playing ridiculously complicated German board games and sampling premium tequilas.
Terry Klassen is best known to fans of MLP as the Voice Director for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the original voice of Pinkie Pie’s father, Igneous Rock, among others. But his resume is simply vast, going all the way back to voicing both Krillin and Master Roshi in the Ocean Group dub of Dragon Ball Z.
His voice directing and acting credits include: Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy, Littlest Pet Shop, Class of the Titans, and Nerds and Monsters, and he co-created Canadian cartoon Yvon of the Yukon with a familiar face for regular BABSCon attendees, Ian James Corlett.
Since joining My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic last season, Josh Haber has written some of our favorite episodes, including “Castle Mane-ia,” “Leap of Faith,” and “Bloom and Gloom.” His episode, “Simple Ways,” even gave the world what Meghan McCarthy said “might be [her] favorite Rarity performance ever.“
Oh yeah, he also wrote a little thing you might have heard of called My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Friendship Games.
Both a staff writer for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic ("The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows") and the prolific author of virtually all the licensed My Little Pony childrens' novels, G.M. Berrow is a rare and varied talent. Her novel credits include Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell, Pinkie Pie and the Rockin' Ponypalooza Party, plus additional titles for the rest of the Mane 6, Princesses Celestia & Luna, and Discord. She's also the author of the Daring Do adventure books! Have a copy of her latest releases, Lyra and Bon Bon and the Mares from S.M.I.L.E. and Daring Do and the Eternal Flower, in your hands and ready to get signed at BABSCon!
Denny Lu is the new Director on the block at MLP:FiM, having directed the latter half of Season 5 and he's continuing that roll into the just-announced Season 6. But Denny's been on Friendship is Magic since the beginning as an Animation Director and Layout Supervisor. Other career highlights include, Layout Supervisor on Equestria Girls, Animation Revisionist on Pound Puppies, Animation Director on Kid vs. Kat, and Animation Posing Supervisor on George of the Jungle.
Kora Kosicka, really makes ponies—and more!—as the lead character designer for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls movies.
Kora’s been working her magic as a character designer for MLP:FiM since season 3, becoming lead character designer for seasons 5 and 6. She also provided the character concept designs for Equestria Girls, leading the character design efforts for Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games. And she was the character designer for season 1 of Littlest Pet Shop.
Steph Mahoney, currently Layout Supervisor, has also been an Animator, and Key Layout Artist on MLP:FiM starting in Season 1, and has been animating on other children’s shows such as Martha Speaks, Ruby Gloom, Kid vs. Kat, Littlest Pet Shop and Pound Puppies. She’s also been a Layout Supervisor in your favorite pony turned human movies, Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games.
Andy Price has had his hand in some of the most memorable comics of IDW Comics' My Little Pony titles, including the Changeling Arc, the first four issues of the series that helped kickstart the comic’s rather impressive sales record!
When Andy isn’t sketching pretty pastel ponies being thrown into mortal danger, he’s drawing something else! Beyond comics he’s known to do advertising, storyboards, book covers, book illustrations, trading cards, and more! He has worked with such renowned companies as DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Rittenhouse Archives, Image Comics, SLG Publishing, and Innovation Comics.
Jeremy Whitley’s quickly become a star on the various My Little Pony IDW titles. On the main series, Friendship is Magic, he wrote issues #23-24 and #34-37 (the well-received “Siege of the Crystal Empire” arc). For Friends Forever, he wrote issues #2, #7, #13-14, #16, #20, #26, and #28, and in the FIENDship is Magic miniseries, he gave King Sombra his origin story in issue #1.
When not writing comics about pastel ponies, Jeremy’s also the primary creative force behind the award-winning Princeless (on which he’s currently collaborating with fellow BABSCon Guest of Honor, Jenn Blake!). If you haven’t checked it out yet, what are you waiting for?
In addition to providing the art for My Little Pony: Friends Forever #16 (featuring Diamond Tiara & Silver Spoon) and a myriad of variant covers for the various IDW MLP titles, Jenn Blake was an illustrator on the IDW Limited releases of “The Return of Queen Chrysalis” arc. She’s also a real-life Rarity, with over 12 years of experience in fashion design, and one of the coolest pegasisters in the fandom.
